The hubby and I hit a county fair antique show this weekend and I just couldn’t bear to leave without this!

hmmm…..what to serve in it……

Baked Stuffed Lobters

Doesn’t “Baked Stuffed Lobsters” sound fabulous! One really can’t go wrong when Butter, Cream and Parmesan Cheese are involved!

Brought to us by the 1961 McCall’s Cook Book. Ah, 1961, where gals wore Saddle Oxford’s, mom watched the Dick Van Dyke Show, and dad could fill up the Belair for only 25¢ a gallon. **sigh**

Pinch Me…..I think I’m in Love!!

Christmas in July

It’s Hot!   We’re setting off fireworks!   We’re eating watermelon!.  We’re swimming and sunbathing!   And some of us crazy crafters are starting our Christmas projects.

My husband’s grandmother had a Christmas Tree full of hand-made Bucilla felt ornaments.  Every time they are placed on the tree, they bring back memories of his grandmother and how awesomely crafty she was.  I LOVE them and just had to have some of my own.  Of course, my craftiness is nowhere near his grandmother’s, but I’m keeping my own.

So I started my collection with Bucilla’s “Cinderella”.   What could be better?

How we learned to do things before YouTube!  I was actually scared when I pulled this out.

Not too bad….still working on the Prince.  “Someday my Prince will be done….”

Happy Christmas in July!

Pyrex Passion….

Is there anything better than vintage Pyrex dishes?

Pyrex 1

You can bake with them.  Mix chocolate chip cookies in them.   And potato salads….forget about it.  YUMMO!

My mother-in-law bakes home made mac-N-cheese in her Pyrex….which is when Pyrex and I fell in love.  If any of her dishes go missing, I’m pleading the 5th!

Don’t these remind you of grandma’s German potato salad?
